Neal Mast Greenhouses, Inc.
is Veriflora Certified.
Being Veriflora certified is the cornerstone of NMG’s sustainability strategy. Veriflora requires complete transparency of our business practices, allowing us to be evaluated in:
- Quality – Supporting handling practices from seed to shelf that allow you to enjoy quality flowers and plants that look beautiful and last longer. Meeting these standards challenges NMG to be better growers.
- Environment – Encouraging farming practices that build soil, conserve water and support healthy ecosystems, meeting the growing consumer demand for sustainably grown flowers and plants.
- People – Promoting a healthy, equitable workplace that supports farmers, workers, their families and the community. Delivering tangible results that benefit growers, workers, consumers, the environment and the bottom line.
VeriFlora is an agricultural sustainability certification and eco-labeling program recognized as the gold-standard in the floriculture and horticulture industries. The program is administered by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a global third-party certifier of environmental, sustainability and agricultural product quality claims. SCS is Accredited under ISO/IEC Guide 65, the international standard for third-party product certifiers.
NMG started the organic certification process 2011. It has taken the efforts of many people and a lot of documentation and hard work. We received the official letter granting us certification on January 5, 2012. Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. We are currently working on organic programs for customers including veggies, herbs and strawberries.
SCSI, the third party company that certifies Veriflora also certifies Organic. SCS has more than two decades of experience evaluating and certifying organic production and handling practices, and was among the first certifiers to be accredited under the USDA administered National Organic Program (NOP).
