NMG Partners with local Charities

Having leftover plants is never a good situation for a greenhouse.  After investing in the materials and labor, we all want to see those plants making a difference and improving the quality of life in someone’s yard or garden.  NMG was fortunate to find a “home” for our leftover tomatoes, peppers and a few herbs, along with distributing a caged tomato plant to each NMG/MYP employee.  A special thank you to Tom Willi for making the contacts and coordinating the distribution. Below are the responses we received:

“Thank you so much for the tomato and pepper plants.  These will help immensely in our kitchen!” – Mel Trotter Mission

“Thanks again for your generosity. We truly appreciate having partners like you to help us achieve our mission. Have a great day and God bless!” – Habitat for Humanity

“I want to express our appreciation for the beautiful tomato and pepper plants. Beautiful facility and very helpful, happy employees. You’ve made our gardeners happy and all were impressed by the healthy and large plants. The Hillcrest Community Garden is in the city of GR and has 110+ rented plots this year and run by a committee of volunteers. We  want you to know your plants were appreciated!” –  Hillcrest Community Garden

“Thank you! Very generous of you and very nice staff, too!”-  Spectrum Health

“Thank you so much for all the beautiful tomato and pepper plants. Our agencies are already scooping them up quickly and I know they will be wonderful treats for the families we serve.  Not only will they be able to enjoy ripened tomatoes that they take home, but folks will get a chance to enjoy fresh produce throughout the season. Thank you for thinking of us, we appreciate your support. –  Feeding America – West Michigan Food Bank
